From the onset, there are 5 visible waves, but the fourth wave had the steepest rise and is responsible for the most cases so far. Total cases rose by 626,086 between Thursday, 30 December 2021 and Wednesday, 5 January 2021 worldwide.
More points to note:
- Total Covid cases per day are on a downward trend, falling by 44% from Monday, 7 February in 21 days,
- Covid Fatality Rate is also trending downwards, falling by 71.95% in over 11 months starting Saturday, March 6, 2021,
- The most fatal waves seem to be the 2nd and 3rd, which also corresponds to high numbers of hospitalizations. An anomaly in fatality rate is observed on Sunday, June 13, 2021. It had a value of 3.06%, which is outside the expected range of 1.98%-2.94%.
